People are going from residential to commercial. The areas are rezoned, but no one is moving back in.
In my efforts to improve traffic, I have destroyed some of my residential buildings, so the city is now down to 54k. In this latest game I made it up to Metropolis (65k). Yeah, usually I have trouble around 25-30k, but eventually I get past that. So, what am I missing? I'm about to start a new game again, because nothing is happening in this one. None of them have worked for me, but here's what I've found:ġ) Not enough services - well, all my residential zones are 4.5-5/5 levels, so they have plenty of services, just not fully populatedĢ) Traffic - Traffic is the real challenge to this game, but I've been keeping it above 75% (usually above 80%)ģ) Ignore the RCI meter - Even though it says no demand for anything? Okay, my population is still stagnating/decreasing slightlyĤ) Reduce Taxes - can't really do that without going bankrupt, and no one is complaining about the tax rate.ĥ) Low Happiness - global happiness is a big green smile, residential happiness is 90%Ħ) Just wait - how long? it's been hours, I don't think that's a real solution So, yes the game has been out a while, and yes I've looked for solutions online. Industry shuts down because there are no buyers, commercial shuts down because there are no workers, residential. I've started a few cities, but I keep running in to this problem where the city stops growing. I picked up C:S in the humble bundle, and I'm enjoying myself so far.
